I'm somewhat confused by your description. Earlier in your post you said this:

If you don't have a local DNS, how can you be using a Split DNS?

When asking questions in these forums it's always useful to give the ZCS version you're using by posting the output of the following command (and update your forum profile with this information):

    Code:
    su - zimbra
    zmcontrol -v
You should also provide the exact error messages from the log files not an out-of-context interpretation of the message.

There are threads all over the forums that describe how to diagnose this problem (and the wiki article contains verification steps for your DNS configuration), have you read any of those or tried any of the solutions?
    Regards

You can't run a Split DNS without using a local DNS server.

Read the wiki article (or the many forum threads) on Split DNS, that has everything you need to know.

Why are you trying to do that, when the Split DNS article tells you not to do it if you're behind a NAT routerthat?

That will always work but what you're actually pining is the public IP and your router which is connected to that IP.

Telling us 'it doesn't work' really does not provide much information about the problem. If you'd searched the forum on this subject you'd find that my next question would be to provide the diagnostic information that you used from the Split DNS article to verify your DNS settings, you did do that didn't you?

Configuring a DNS server is nothing to do with Zimbra, it's a basic admin task.

That would most likely be because your DNS is incorrect.

Not really as you've given no detailed information about the problem. You need to go to the Split DNS article and run all the commands in the 'Verify...' section of that article to check your DNS configuration.

    Hi,

Just install on some server local DNS server with your domain zone and do same DNS records with local IP's.

    Ex.:
    on your ISP DNS record:
mail.yourdomian.com A 195.145.165.1 <- (your public IP of mikrotik router)

    On you local DNS server:
    mail.yourdomian.com A 192.168.1.1 <- (internal network IP address)

And that it. From internet you access you Zimbra server with mail.yourdomian.com DNS address and in localnet.
