Default Recommended Apple MAC hardware for a small-medium sized company

hi,

i am planning to install zimbra network edition into a mac pro with specs:

Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon (Woodcrest)
4GB (4 x 1GB) DDR2 Memory
160GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s

and i read that zimbra has some problems with dual cores.. and the solution was to disable the other one.. your advise is much appreciated...

thanks/forever newbie

Depends how you define "small-medium" - but if you already have the hardware just do a test.
Install zimbra, create as many accounts as you need and use some scripts to stress the system.

Cheers
Andre

If you can provide user count, percentage of each type of connections (web vs pop/imap vs MAPI), current mailbox sizes, and estimated message count we can provide you a good evaluation of the hardware.
