Sending mail from Web apps

I am using the Joomla CMS and I want to setup its setings my mail server (Zimbra FC5 Open Source).

My options are SMTP (asks for SMTP host, User adn passwd) or Sendmail (asks for path to sendmail).

Which would be the best option to use, and how would I configure it?

SMTP should just drop it into port 25 on the ZImbra server, I assume you'll only need to give it the server address?
