Default Getting nuts with postfix outlook and thunderbird

Dear forum,

After a couple of days of work I finally got zimbra running in a openvz box, everything worked fine for a day or so with kmail and thunderbird to send emails (smtp tls if available), but today I tried to get outlook client running with zimbra and modified the configuration.
Following this wiki entry
http://wiki.zimbra.com/index.php?tit..._Configuration
I enabled these two lines in master.cf
#smtps inet n - n - - smtpd
# -o smtpd_tls_wrappermode=yes -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes

now, nothing is working anymore, even not when I switch it back and check with thunderbird or kmail.

kmail (from internet):
Jan 5 19:16:22 postman postfix/smtpd[11742]: connect from XXX
Jan 5 19:16:22 postman postfix/smtpd[11742]: setting up TLS connection from XXX
Jan 5 19:16:22 postman postfix/smtpd[11742]: TLS connection established from XXX: TLSv1 with cipher RC4-MD5 (128/128 bits)
Jan 5 19:16:22 postman postfix/smtpd[11742]: warning: XXX: SASL LOGIN authentication failed
Jan 5 19:16:22 postman postfix/smtpd[11742]: lost connection after AUTH from XXX
Jan 5 19:16:22 postman postfix/smtpd[11742]: disconnect from XXX

Thunderbird (in DMZ)
Jan 5 19:43:25 postman postfix/smtpd[18200]: connect from unknown[192.168.1.1]
Jan 5 19:43:25 postman postfix/smtpd[18200]: setting up TLS connection from unknown[192.168.1.1]

Default Me too

If it's any consolation I am having the same issue. Neither Apple Mail or Thunderbird are able to now send emails.

This is true even if I comment out the two lines in /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/master.cf and zmmtactl restart.

Any ideas anyone?

Default Fixed for me

This post shed some light:

Can't set zimbraMtaAuthURL

Seems that when I changed the webmail ports from 8080 and 8443 to 80 and 443, it doesn't change the zimbraMtaAuthURL. I just changed the zimbraMtaHostName and this was regenerated correctly.
