Default Potential User Questions

Hi all,

ok, no doubt that the zimbra ajax webmail client is cool, but I have a couple of questions about the possible usage of the zimbra system.

1) Is it possible to continue using qmail as the mta instead of zimbra's smtp servers? If I ONLY want to use the ajax webmail client, can I?

2) Since one can compile the source, can it be compiled to use FreeBSD ?

3) Noticed that the storage directories may be different than the standard MailDir type. Is that true?

4) Does it really have to hit the LDAP or MySQL database in order to deliver every message, and apply filters???

Thanks,

Tim.

1. Fairly sure the answer is "No"

2. Search the forums. There's a patchset posted for getting it to compile with FreeBSD

I think the answers to 3 and 4 are both "Yes" but someone else with more knowledge can answer.
