Default ZCS 8.0 Fresh install, no luck with Ubuntu or Centos

Spent three hours wrestling with ZCS 8.0 (latest version) on the following OSes:

    Centos 6.3 6.2
    Ununtu 12.04

The installation completed but could not start Zimbra and the general issue with all of them:

    /etc/init.d/zimbra start
    Host localhost
Unable to determine enabled services from ldap.
Unable to determine enabled services. Cache is out of date or doesn't exist.

Sorry for you, you have to back and review your installs; i've have deployed in Centos 6 and Ubuntu 12.04 flawless.

That is by far the easiest distribution on which to install ZCS and the 'but' is that you must have valid DNS A & MX records in a Split DNS (if you're behind a NAT router).

Therein lies your problem, if you'd searched the forums (or read the product documentation) you'd have found out what's required for installing ZCS, read the Split DNS article and the many threads on this subject. Fix your DNS records, configure the hosts & resolv.conf files correct and set the correct domain name during the install then try again.
