Default Connecting to Hotmail - but get "Please correct missing or invalid input.

I think I'm doing everything right... I've followed all the advice from other posts, but its still saying that I need to correct invalid or missing input. The frustrating part is that it doesn't say what is wrong. From the reviews, this looks like the exact program I want to use, so I'm really hoping someone can help me...

    Thanks!

Please correct missing or invalid input.

I have never been able to connect to hotmail. It doesn't appear that anyone has an answer to the problem. Is it something Microsoft is doing?

It works fine for me however, when you're reporting aproblem it would hel;p if you actually gave some details about the installed version of the product and the errors that you're seeing instead of just posting a 'me too'.

Follow the POP3 instructions here but do not use SSL for the SMTP connection - that works for me.

7.1.4 GA (build 11299) It says in the instructions to put that in the profile which I did.

The link says Hotmail only directly supports POP3. For POP3, use pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com on ports 995 and 587 using SSL. For detailed instructions, go to the Windows Live website listed in Related Links. The related link took me to my account. I tried it in several variations. It is balking at 995 every time.

That's correct but you can see that (at the moment) it's not showing in the forum profile.

What exactly do you mean by 'balking', what error do you see? I used the same instructions and connect to a hotmail account without problems. I did, however, forget to mention that as well as leaving out SSL for the SMTP connection you should also use port 25 not 587.

The error varies from time to time. Sometimes it gets to port before the error starts.
