syslogd on RHEL6.1
One of the steps in the installation guide says I should edit
/etc/sysconfig/syslog but that file doesn't exist on RHEL6.1
Nearest I can find is /etc/sysconfig/syslog but that contains:
# syslogd options are deprecated since rsyslog v3
# if you want to use them, switch to compatibility mode 2 by "-c 2"
SYSLOGD_OPTIONS="-c 4"
What do I do? Do I need to carry out this step?
TIA,
Ian

Did you ever get an answer on this? I am at the same steps in the installation guide and wondering if I should set it to -c 2 for compatibility and then include the options in the install guide -r -m 0
