Angry Several problems installing zimbra on vps

    Hi there,

so I tried to install Zimbra on a VPS for a few days. For now I didn't get closer to solve it.

Also I tried to use several OS as Ubuntu, Debian, Cent.

Sometimes only the mailbox did not start and mostly I get the failure:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

Even if I try to use zmlocalconfig.

Before I used a Server with 1 GB RAM, now the Server has 2 GB of RAM but nothing changed.

I hope someone could help me.

    Greetings Alex

That is not a supported platform for Zimbra, you may or may not get it working. It's recommended you install ZCS on a dedicated server.

That's hardly surprising, you need at least 2GB of dedicated RAM for Zimbra. Search the forums and wiki for details of how you may get it working in a VPS.

BTW I don't know why you posted the title with an angry smiley in it, this is isn't the fault of Zimbra.
    Regards

Why should an angy smiley means that I am angry about Zimbra. If I would be angry, I would not try to install it.

So, I don't have a dedicated server, only the virtual one and already read in the forum that it could be possible. I tried a lot of things out of the forum and now I am on a point where I think, that it is better to explain my own problem and ask, if there is anybody who could help.

In the requirements is written that 1 GB is enough for testing.

Ok for now I am at the point, that only the mailbox is not runnig. Here is the log:

    vi zmmailboxd.out
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
