Upgrade OSE 5.0.6 to 7.1.3

I am currently running the open source edition 5.0.6 on RHEL5 64 bit and would like to upgrade to the latest version. What is the suggested order for upgrading? Can we skip version 6.x.x and go directly to version 7.1.3 or is it better to install the versions sequentially?

We have never upgraded before and I don't want to screw this up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Full details of upgrading ZCS are in the Release Notes for every version, read the Notes for version 7.1.x in detail and take a backup before the upgrade. You almost never need to do intermediate upgrade steps.

Thank you. I have reviewed the Release Notes and read it like I would be able to go to version 7.1.3 but just wanted to make sure.
