Default Notes Feature

Hello all,

I am not sure, but has Zimbra implemented a notes feature?

I use the Open Source version but have not yet found a facility to use notepad/scratch pad type notes.

I know Kerio Mail Server does provide this feature and also Outlook.

Am i wrong or have i just overlooked it perhaps?

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you

Costa

Yes, it's implemented and it's still in beta but it's called Documents. It should be the fourth or fifth tab down on the left of the screen.

I see form your demo site that it doesn't show a Documents tab, which release are you running and have you enabled it in the COS?

Hi thanks for your reply - I have enabled it for myself and my clients.

I am not sure if this is what i am thinking of, can you explain how the Documents is supposed to work?

I am thinking it is more like a wiki than a notes feature - but I expect to be wrong.

look forward to hearing from you

thanks

Costa

No, it's more a documents feature than a wiki. If you're thinking it's like the Zimbra wiki that everyone can see and edit then, no, it's not like that.

It allows individual users to create documents etc. on their workspace and then share them with other users. Say I'm working on a business proposal for a customer, I'll want to create a detailed document containing my text, spreadsheets, graphics etc, this feature allows me to do that - it also allows me to share that document with coleagues for review of modification. There's isn't much info on the documents feature as it's still a beta feature.
