Default Antivirus not running after setup

Used to use ClamAV in conjunction with MailScanner and Sendmail before migrating (on the same box) to Zimbra. Looking through the admin util, it seems that the AV scanner isn't running, but I can't see anyone to play around with it. Any suggestions?

Also...trying to start it manually doesn't work either.

What error messages do you get when you try starting it manually? Which version/release of zimbra is this?

Version is: 4.0.3_GA_406.RHEL4-20061016143637

I don't actually get any error messages when trying to start...it says "done", but then in status, it shows what is posted above.

Seems like it's a problem with the .pid file...but I can't figure it out.

Got it...couldn't claim the port number of the old installation, even after shutting it down. tried re-starting the old one and then shutting it down, then starting the new one. That worked.

Default Antivirus not running

Hi,
could you please post the details (as explict as you can make them) of what you did to get antivirus up again. I think I am in the same situation, with these error messages in the log:

ClamAV-clamd av-scanner FAILED: Too many retries to talk to 127.0.0.1:3310

I have mail accumulating in the deferred queue and need to get things back on track.
thanks,
Ron,
