Default New Multiple Identities Added to 4.0.3?

I upgraded my install last night to 4.0.3. But i don't see the multiple identities feature anywhere.

Has anyone tried this yet? Looking at the bug list, this is one of the bugs that were resolved.

http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/buglist.c...uery_based_on=

Here's the bug thats resolved:
http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7780

Is this not in 4.0.3?

If not which version will it be in? and when will that be released.

Right now thats the only thing thats keeping me from moving to zimbra.
I download a lot of mail using fetchmail.

well this bug relates to account aggregation - ie external POP importing rather than multiple identities, and it was fixed well after the release of 4.0.3! But I think multiple identities is due for the next major release.

The bug report tells you which version it's targetted for and it's Frank, the next major release. If you're interested in testing it there's a vmware image with the Network Edition 4.5 beta, you can download it here - BTW, you will need a trial license to use that version.

is there a beta opensource option?
Also in the roadmap it says 4.5 will be out in Q4. but its passed that right?
So do you when it will come out? a guesstimate will be fine.
Just want to know how long.

There's no beta of the OSS version yet, you'll have to wait.

...erm, this is Q4 - we're not quite half way through it. I believe the target is sometime late Q4 - that's a guesstimate on my part so don't hold me to it and there's no point in asking, it'll be here when it's ready.

Has anyone tried ZCS 4.5 Beta1 yet?

It supports multiple identities. BUT, it only allows me to add identities that I have aliases for.
Is this useful? well maybe. But what i really want to do is add any identity i want.
NOT only do i want aliases on my current account. I also want to use something like @hotmail.com So i can send email from the web client. Why hasn't this been enabled? i'm sure its easy to just allow "custom" option on the new identities preference menu. So that i can just type in a new email address that i want to add.

Also when creating a new email the identities drop down menu is placed in the most awkward place. It shouldn't be next to the "Subject" place. It should be near "To" field or above. So you choose your identity first and then type in the To address. thats how it is on every other client.

You can add whatever external email you want. See the attached screenshot.

No, that produces From tag like this:
Code:
From: "foobar@yahoo.com" < zimbra@zimbraserver.com >
Its not actually changing the from field. Its just replacing the "Name" part of it to whatever email address. Its not the same as changing identities. The reciever will see that the email is zimbra@zimbraserver.com and the name of that person is foobar@yahoo.com.

I guess you could fool the user into thinking it came from yahoo. Since they will see that email address and so when they press reply they will send it to the yahoo email. But when they try to whitelist or something, they won't actually know to whitelist zimbra@zimbraserver.com
