Woah, that's interesting. This is really RHEL6, and not CentOS, right? Is it still stock RHEL6, or have you kept it up to date with patches? Just want to make sure where your system is so I can test as close as possible to match your environment.

Actually the test machine is Centos and probably behind on patches. I'll bring it up to patch, but interestingly this wasn't an issue with every other version of 7.*. I know that Centos isn't officially supported but you probably want to fix it seeing how many people use it.

I'll bring that machine up to patch levels, install 7.1.1 from scratch and try another upgrade. We'll see what that does.

Yeah, I'm not necessarily blaming the patchlevel, but wanted to get an idea where it stood on patches. I'm going to go ahead and try reproducing this on a base install without patching and see if it's easily reproducible or not. We did find the following redhat bug, which may explain it:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=665073

I'll get back shortly with our internal bug if I can reproduce it easily. I'll get back either way, really.

Other people using CentOS6 have been able to install ZCS 7.1.2 jsut fine. I know because they've opened bugs because of other issues. However, I will note we are using RHEL6.1 for builds, and CentOS is still at RHEL6.0 level.

I'm probably going to need to test this with CentOS. As quanah said, we only support RHEL6.1 (RHEL6 had a nasty bug, which I was just reminded of when I tried to install on it, where java would just sit and spin. It took hours to install even ZCS 7.1.1). Of course, CentOS is unsupported, but I'd expect you won't hit this on RHEL6 if that's what you're running in production. Continuing to test.

Okay, I've completed my testing, and I can't reproduce this. My guess is that you're caught in a patchlevel inbetween where I had to patch to and the original CentOS 6.0 release. When I was on CentOS base I couldn't install due to a java bug that was present in RHEL6.0. Once I ran yum update, I could install fine and it runs fine and the upgrade went normally. I would suggest running yum update and trying again on your test box. Let me know if that doesn't work.
