Installation | Remote shared web host? (new to Zimbra, but technically sound :))

hi folks,

I've been looking through the primer/quick start guide and noticed a few points about OS changes. This leads me to ask...

Can I install Zimbra on a remote shared host? I've been trying to determine from the pre-reqs if this is possible or not ... the product looks awesome!

That depends ;-)

It can definitely run on a shared host, I run it now in such an environment.

However, that only works if you have admin rights... Zimbra isn't just a web interface, but the entire mail system (web, smtp, imap, pop, etc), for the server. So, you'd be replacing Postfix or Sendmail or whatever with Zimbra.
