Default Zimbra installation fails (Debian)

Hi!

I wanted to try to install zimbra on my debian based webserver today, but installation always fails with the following output.

output console:

zimbra-core_4.0.3_GA_406.DEBIAN3.1_i386.deb installation failed

How much java object space does Zimbra need?
Is there anybody out there, who can help me with my problem? :-)

Default zimbra 4.0.5 on debian vm with 256 mb

hi,

it is possible to install and run zimbra with very few ram.
using this installation is my task in the next few weeks.
for tuning some (rather basic) tips are in the wiki (wiki.zimbra.com), but for very simple and single use, I am going to reduce apache childs.

for debian 3.1r4 i can offer the dependant packages names.

of course this kind of installation is not recommended as productive ect pp,
but to get in though with it (vmware on homepc) is does quite well.
