[SOLVED] zmldapinit & ldap_url and ldap_master_url cannot be the same on an ldap

help me, I have aid necessity in order to resolve a my serious error, while I tried to resolve the problems of an installation of zimbra ko I have launch for error in the shell of the zimbra in production: /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmldapinit


now the continuous machine to work, but on a clone of the same one I have reboot and zimbra has gone KO, not being able to allow me not to extinguish it never more i try the restoration , but it fail

- I have copied from backup rows of configuration:
/opt/zimbra/lib/conf

/opt/zimbra/openldap/etc/openldap

/opt/zimbra/lib/conf

/opt/zimbra/data/ldap/config/

/opt/zimbra/conf

also I have changed the owner of the localconfig.xml to zimbra.zimbra


but with: zmcontrol restart
I still obtain errors

You need to give a bit more detail about your problem when posting in the forums. You can start by updating your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):

zmcontrol -v

What exactly were you trying to do when this error occurred? Is this a new install or an upgrade? Is it a single server or multi server install? What's the exact configuration of your Zimbra server(s)? What errors do you see in the log files?

The usual reason you get this error:

Unable to determine enabled services from ldap.
Enabled services read from cache. Service list may be inaccurate.

Is because you don't have a Split DNS set-up, have you set-up that configuration (you must if you're behind a NAT router)?

This error (the highlighted line) below indicates that you are not using a valid FQDN for your server - that needs fixing:

zimbra it was OK till my stupid error, when in the machine in production, trying the restoration of other installation (but of this for the time being does not import to me) has started this script found on the forum:


/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmldapinit

my version is:

zmcontrol -v
Release 6.0.6_GA_2324

single server

I have found apparently the restoration method, if someone can gives confirmation to me of the goodness of the procedure, thanks.

the scrip change de file of config into folder:
/opt/zimbra/conf/
/opt/zimbra/data/ldap/conf/


/opt/zimbra/conf/zimbra.ldif
/opt/zimbra/conf/localconfig.xml

/opt/zimbra/data/ldap/config/cn=config/olcDatabase={0}config.ldif


1)Recover file from backup
2)Update the ldap root password.
$ zmldappasswd -r newrootpass
Update the zimbra ldap password.
$ zmldappasswd newpass

restart zimbra con un zmcontrol restart

error ldap apparently resolved:

convertd Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running

I also have the same problem, i am confuse in the method that you have use, please be clear in your explanation
