Default Server Status

The server status shows the following error:

"Server status data is not available. To see server status, logger serveice must be installed."

zmcontrol status
antispam Running
antivirus Running
imapproxi Running
ldap Running
mailbox Running
memcached Running
mta Running
snmp Running
spell Running
status Running
zmconfigd Running

Question:
What do I need to check or do to get the logger to work?
Thanks,
AG

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the two highlighted services above they should not be installed on a single server and they will cause problems, there's several threads in the forums with details of how to disable and remove them.

The webpage looks for the file /var/log/zimbra.log. It gets filled by sysklogd or syslog-ng. During installation, only one daemon gets modified. This depends on your $OS:

SuSE: syslog-ng
Ubuntu: sysklogd

So, if you are running Ubuntu and switch to syslog-ng, you won't see any new loglines within /var/log/zimbra.log. That can be another reason for the error in the subject. For more details, have a look at /opt/zimbra/bin/zmsyslogsetup.
