Unhappy SUSE 10.1 support

I cannot install the open source Edition of Zimbra.

My OS is SUSE 10.1 - Is this not supported. The Binary seemed to sugest that Suse 10.X is supported.

Please see below:

This platform is UNKNOWN
Packages found: zimbra-core-4.0.2_GA_362.SuSE10-20060922134048.i386.rpm
This may or may not work

Install anyway? [N] y

The system will be modified. Continue? [N] y

Shutting down zimbra mail

Removing existing packages

Removing deployed webapp directories

Removing /opt/zimbra
Installing packages

zimbra-core......zimbra-core-4.0.2_GA_362.SuSE10-20060922134048.i386.rpm...FAILED
###ERROR###

No, 10.1 isn't supported yet. The build you've tried was for 10 and as you can see it doesn't work, you could try hacking it but I'd wait until the corect version is released or use something like CentOS for a server.

Default Issues after Install

Hello,

I installed Fedora O/S instead of SUSE 10.1

I am just setting up Zimbra on my local workstation to have a play around.

I managed to install zimbra but was complaining about no MX record for my host in DNS "change your domainname" I selected NO and the install completed.

I could not access the admin console by going to http://[my FQDN]:7071

When I go to check services by:

su - zimbra
cd /opt/zimbra/bin
./zmcontrol status

I get the following error message

Cannot determine services - exiting

When I tail -f /var/log/messages/

I get the following:

ct 10 10:05:06 linux-england02 kernel: audit(1160489104.529:1262): avc: granted { execmem } for pid=3771 comm="java" scontext=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c255 tcontext=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c255 tclass=process

repeatedly.

Can you help.

Regards,

Mike.

First of all you access the admin ui via https://

The missing MX record will possibly cause you problems, does your machine have a DNS A & MX record?

Cool DNS and Thanks

Hello,

No MX record or A record for my host in the current DNS server im pointing too.

I'm going to setup DNS on my host also. That should resolve the isssue.

I turned off SElinux. It fixed the issue at hand but I now have another issue.

I will fix the DNS first and if I still have issues I will post the error.

Thanks for you help Phoenix and dijichi2.

Regards,

Mike.
