| | | [SOLVED] Multi server instalation Hi, I'm installing zimbra 7 in a test environment with multi server installation under Ubuntu server 10.04
I have installed the ldap server and the storage server, and now I'm traying to install the mta server but when I sign in the password for postfix user or amavis user or nginx user the system cannot bind with it.
Here is the zmsetup.log from the mta server

| | Can't help you, but if you found the fix by yourself, please share, I'd be interested as well.
My fix was to remove the zimbra-proxy package from the host....

Thank you | The error messages indicate the new MTA server can't talk to the LDAP Master.
I'd check a few things: - If the new MTA server is in a separate firewall zone, I'd check the inter-zone rules allow for all traffic on the needed ports.
- The new MTA's server configuration of /etc/hosts and DNS is just as critical as for the base Zimbra server. I'd suggest double-checking these settings.
- If the LDAP Master is configured to require secure inter-process communications, but the new MTA server is not, inter-server communications can fail.
Hope that gets you on the right track.
All the best,
Mark

| | Solved with ldap replica i have the same problem,
in lan a test server with MTA and STORE
in dmz i would to install a PROXY machine with the same error.....
i resolved enabling ldap replica on the "lan server", and installing ldap replica on the "dmz server" with the proxy.....
the installer now ask for the credential of user zmnginx and the system finally work perfect.
It's possible that the upgrade at v.7 is the problem?
(my conf is Zimbra Open v7 - from v6 - in RedHat 5.6)

| | | OK y solve the problem reinstalling zimbra in all servers again.
I think it was a DNS problem but it could be a communication problem between LDAP server and MTA and proxy servers.
I start all installation again an it works correctly.
