Default IM/XMPP work through the proxy?

Sorry if this has been asked or this is the wrong forum, did a search but didn't find anything.

Anyway I'm currently evaluating Zimbra on a single server ... working quite nicely.

Wondering if the IM/XMPP portion will work through the zimbra-proxy in a multi-server environment.

For example we would have an external IP/DNS that would point to the zimbra-proxy, there would be multiple zimbra servers behind that ... will the proxy properly route the XMPP traffic to the appropriate servers?

Thx!

Guess I've sort of found an answer to this after some more digging, if this is no longer the case plz advise:

Bug 19398 – Integration with external IM servers (XMPP proxy support)

Thx

That is the answer to your question, you can't use it with a multi-server. You should also be aware that the IM server is being removed from Zimbra in the next Major release - further details here.

Yea I was aware that it's being split out ... given it's lack of play nice with multi-server this might be a good thing for us actually. Presumably we can configure Zimbra to use whatever XMPP server we want at that point?

Anyway thx for the replies.
