Default Error while upgrading to 7.0.0

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade zimbra to the 7.0.0 version but it does not work. I might have done something wrong, i don't know, because it wasn't me who installed the previous version.

I follow steps from the docs:
- wget http://files2.zimbra.com/downloads/7...0127201852.tgz (i checked ubuntu version)
- tar xzvf zcs-7.0.0_GA_3077.UBUNTU8_64.20110127201852.tgz and cd
- ./install.sh

And then this :
Code:

It would appear that your hosts file and/or the DNS A & MX records are incorrect. Go to the Split DNS article and read what's necessary for that, you can then check the configuration by running all the commands in the 'Verify....' section.

Thanks for the quick answer !
I'm checking but everything seems to be fine for the DNS.

However, i think the guy who first tried to upgrade to 7.0.0 version (and left from office at 4pm) had not enough space for the installation. So he mounted the installation directory somewhere else and the problem must come from here.

I also mentioned the hosts file, you need to check that as well - the format and contents are as described in the Split DNS article.

Running out of space doesn't help.

Trying to install again but there's no space enough on /opt/.
I've moved /opt to /home/opt and created a link on /opt to /home/opt but it is saying :
Installation cannot continue if either /opt or /opt/zimbra are symbolic links.

Is there a way to modify the size of a partition ?
Or another way ?

Meanwhile, i'll check again hosts file.

Thanks

EDIT : Or modifying zimbra install directory ?

When no link or mount is created on /opt/zimbra and i install the new version, everything is working fine until it says there is no space enough.

I did this workaround :
mount --bind /home/opt/ /opt/zimbra/

Now it has space enough but i have the same error from my first post :/

It can't "verify message store database integrity" and installation cannot complete, it says :
"Stopping zimbra services...failed. exiting.
UPGRADE FAILED - exiting."

That's correct, you shouldn't use a symbolic link but you can use a hard link.

Mount another HD? My suggestion would be to get some additional (and sufficient capacity) HDs on your server.

No, that's not possible.

I'm trying to add a hard link but it says it cannot create a link from a directory to another one which is on another partition ... which is the case.

Code:
/dev/md1 9,7G 8,0G 1,3G 87% /
varrun 2,0G 84K 2,0G 1% /var/run
varlock 2,0G 0 2,0G 0% /var/lock
udev 2,0G 36K 2,0G 1% /dev
devshm 2,0G 0 2,0G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/md2 678G 603G 41G 94% /home
/dev/md1 needs 5G

Then you'll have to add additional HDs to your server and rsync everything under /opt/zimbra to that.

I found something that seems to be working :
- move /opt content into /home/opt
- in /etc/fstab write
Code:
/home/opt /opt none bind 0 0
- umount /opt
- mount -a

It is now installing well, but when i restart zimbra i get this :
Code:

        Stopping mta...Done.
