ok, so the bottom line is... (correct me if i'm wrong)
when the zimbra network/professional license expires:

    1. no new users can be created
    2. outlook/isync plugins cease to function
    3. mobile sync ceases to function
    4. baby jesus cries

All correct apart from number 4 and number 1 has the proviso that you can create users if you 'upgrade' to the OSS version.

    At least the sales people recognize what was said to me as I received this via email this morning;

"I was under the understanding that the product would work as is; there was some confusion over this internally. The forum post is correct, however, I will honor what I said. We'll make it right and I will extend your license at renewal if you do not want to pay the yearly charge, nothing will break."

The Product is very very good, the Sales people are very very good, but I guess there is a need for some better communication.

Is 'upgrade from NE to OSS a easy task?

AFAIK, it's just like upgrade from one version to the other : backup (obviously), launch install.sh and relax while the computer is working for you 8)

ok....let say you are on version 3 with more users than you are licensed for. What happens when you upgrade to 4?

The License for ZImbra is enforced for version 4.x of Zimbra, you'll either need to contact sales or reduce the number of users.

    Hello,

does the "Archive & Discovery feature" (SOX) continue to work, if the
Network Edition license is not renewed in time or not at all ?

    Thank's a lot! John

No, as far as I know it does not work - it's an NE feature.

[EDIT]Sorry, I missed the 'in time' bit of your post. All the features will run for the time specified in this thread, they don't just stop when your licence expires.
    Regards
