I was a newbie about ubuntu
I installed zimbra mail server on Ubuntu 8.04 everything was going well until the installation of the installation BIND9 zimbra mail server.
but who were the problem after the installation is complete, mail zimbra can send email but cant't receive email.
I used ZCS-6.0.7_GA_2470.UBUNTU8.20100611022857

I already check "zmcontrol status" all running well.

I actually found out today i have the same problem. I am not able to receive mails on my zimbra server from the outside, while sending mails seems to be just fine. I tried the host -t mx domainname and that results in 100 fqdn.

Edit: Actually i solved my problem it appeared we were not forwarding our ports right. Make sure you have port 25 open so that mail can actually be received.

please let me know in the admin web, did you check the "enable DNS lookup" option. If checked, please uncheck it.
Do it by: go to the Global Settings>MTA tab on the administration console and uncheck Enable DNS lookups.
Because you only use zimbra in LAN so you don't need to use that, I think maybe zimbra tried to lookup dns to send mail and it can't send mail because that thing.
Let me know after doing that thing or you solved your problem.

I'm not master I'm only an experienced user.
Notice: as I said, because if you let zimbra use DNS to send and receive mail, it'll lookup DNS to know where to send mail --> you can see zimbra said that "Mail sent" but in the receiver's mailbox, they can't receive any mail (Zimbra doesn't know where to send).
