The ZCS_box is behind an IP tables FW.
ZCS has a private IP and /etc/hosts configured

But when I do su - zimbra appear the following message.
I do not understand why this happen o what is the source of this problem.

Quote:
]# su - zimbra
[zimbra@mail ~]$ zmcontrol status

antivirus Running
imapproxy Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Stopped
mysql.server is not running.
memcached Running

Even I do install the version that is en the official site and nothing, I got the same problem.

My System Is fully updated and dependences were found (when install 606 and 607zcs_version)

The usual answer to this problem is: a) you have an invalid hosts file and b) you need to set-up a Split DNS server on your LAN. Please read the Quick Start Installation Guide for details of the correct hosts file format and the article on SPlit DNS. Theer are many threads all over these forums that describe how to check the validity of your host file & the DNS configuration, when you've fixed the DNS & hosts file please check the with the details in the forum threads.

BTW, you also don't need to install the proxy & memcached (nor should they be installed) on a single server Zimbra installation.

Hello Bill, and thank you very much for your quickly answer.

In my internal network I have only 3 servers

1st = CentOS + IPTables + DNS_Bind(Chrooted)+DHCP (internal zone configured)
2nd = CentOS + Apache + MySQL + PHP
3th = CentOS + rpmforge-repo + CentOS_Plus_Repo, both enable + Zimbra (sendmail deinstall)

I do need one dns only for the Zimbra box, even having a DNS for my internal network?

best Regards.

If you already have a DNS server then you need to modify it to contain the DNS A & MX records for your domain and pointing to the Zimbra server (the example is the Split DNS article), have you done that and checked the /etc/hosts file?

You need to provide some information about the problem. Let's start with the output of the following commands (run on the zimbra server):
Code:
cat /etc/hosts
cat /etc/resolv.conf
dig yourdomain.com any
dig yourdomain.com mx
host `hostname` <- use that exact command with backticks not single quotes
You should also look in the log files for errors when you start Zimbra and see what the problem is.

Quote:
cat /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.0.3 mail.notariadannon.com
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

Quote:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
; generated by /sbin/dhclient-script
search mydomain.com
nameserver 192.168.0.1

This is my information because I can't change now the Public DNS in my ISP because I can't leave the enterprise without mail service.

#host hostname and
#dig mydomain.tld mx are pointing to a public IP

This is why I set up a DNS server internally.

Best Regards.

Meanwhile I do uninstall all zcs until have more infor.

Zimbra will not install (nor work) correctly until you have the DNS A & MX records set-up on your LAN DNS server.

Ohh my bad!!
I just remember I stopped 192.168.0.1's named, where I configured the $MyDomain and I was having troubles with my internal web server and obviously zimbra...

But I'll install a BIND in the ZCS Server and poing resolv.conf to itself.
Doing this, it might work, as well?

Thank You
