Default Zimbra on Solaris

I have seen some posts about installing Zimbra on a Solaris -- except these are beyond my understanding. Sorry I'm a beginning administrator with Unix-based machines which were left to me. It sounds like you can't just download and install Zimbra on a Solaris machine but have to go way-techie and do some building do to so. Is that true? Does anybody know of anyone successfully running Zimbra on Solaris? If I could do this it'd be a great help!

There is currently no binary build of Zimbra for Solaris, you will have to check it out of CVS, download all the third-party packages and then build it yourself. Have a search of the forums for some info. AFAIK, nobody has posted back with any success on Solaris.

Thanks for the fast reply. crash and burn go my hopes of using that machine. I'll search the other posts for good machines for my scale of operation and if I have any other questions, I hope you can answer them just as fast. Au revoir!
