Default Recover Contacts

Hello

I had a failed upgrade that I backed up the /opt/zimbra folder before the upgrade.

I had to reinstall to resolve the problem. The server is working again.

I've got the e-mails, but I need the contacts also.

All I know is they are sql data.

Using the open source edition, is there any way to recover the contacts directly for the sql data?

Do you have another machine available where you could copy /opt/zimbra across to ? Does not require anything fancy just something that can start up a MySQL server instance.

I do.

Though I tried to move the /opt/zimbra duplicate backup folder I had made, and it failed after only 400M.

Is it possible to only move the /opt/zimbra/db folder?

Yes that will be fine ... we just need to get the old MySQL DB up and running.

Ok, I have the db folder on the other server.

Giving ya a warning. I don't work with SQL.

I may need to be pointed in the direction of some tutorials if this is going to require anything involved.

The other system currently does NOT have zimbra installed.

Should I get it installed onto the system? If so, does it need to be the same version as my previous installation?

Okay; are you able to bring the MySQL database up and connect to it ?

I don't know where to start to bring the database up.

I have an SQL editor, I can poke around with that...

That's the extent of my SQL knowledge.

Would anyone know where I could start with recovering these contacts from the SQL database from zimbra? I can't seem to find any documentation on it...
