Thankyou, I'll try that. I'm a bit green on Ant myself - I'm a make junkie.

Default Any progress in Solaris 10 installation ???

Hello there, I just took a quick look onto Your dialog regarding Solaris 10 installation. It seems quite interesting though.

Did any of You success, or how close did You get to a full working installation ?

Share the experiences You have obtained so far, then I will use them for further investigation.

Best regards, Daniel Mersebak

i pulled it because it had known security holes, and I was expecting to push a new build quickly. however, for various reasons that hasn't happened. apologies to those waiting. i am working with Sun engineers to produce the next build and submit a patchset to Zimbra for future inclusion in the codebase.

Just wondered if anyone had made any progress with this or ideally if Zimbra were looking at incorporating it into the standard builds?

We'd really like to run Zimbra in production on Solaris but I'm a bit concerned about keeping up to date with new releases/fixes if we have to compile from source each time?

Hi

5.0.9 is available for Solaris10 x86 on the community builds site:
Welcome to varlogmessages
(head for downloads and hit the sourceforge link).

Solaris10 sparc build is supposedly forthcoming although it's gone a bit quiet, and we're heading towards Solaris11 + OpenSolaris support for 5.0.10.

Sure wish this effort wouldn't just fizzle away. Even if there's uncertainty about OpenSolaris after the Oracle buyout, we're still running a lot of Solaris machines, both sparc and x86, and probably will continue to do so.

Yeah, but that wouldn't get you zfs, which would be one of the advantages of using Solaris.
