Unhappy Multi-Server Installation took so long

Last weekend we upgraded our Zimbra servers from 3.1.2 Network GA to 3.1.4 but the process took so long, we were out of service for 12 hours. Each server upgrade took 3+ hours to complete because of the database changes for each account, the same changes occurred on each server, ldap did it, store did it and also mta did it.
I think that upgrade script must be reprogrammed because being 12 hours without service is a mess for our users.

All former upgrades took no more than 2 hours but this one really set a record.

How big are your machines? Seems like a bug as I don't think we are really do that much in the DB upgrade scripts.
