    Default [SOLVED] Tuning community edition for small system?

    Hello,

    i am new to zimbra and want to use it for approx. 10 mailboxes.
    Knowing this, it is obvious, that i don't want to have a full bloat installation with all features that someone can imagine.

    All i want is ton run the AJAX-FE for theese handfull of mailboxes including the server-backbone with antivirus and antispam.
    I deaktivated spell-checking to prevent zimbra from installing and starting apache.

    Now the problem:
    I have only 384MB of RAM

    I tried to reduce many java parameters, but now i can't start the store at all, seems i have tuned to much! Can someone give me the original line again?

    And the question:
    Can somebody help me to get this running? What do i'll have to tune for this?

    Following my changes:
    Code:
    $ zmlocalconfig -e mailboxd_java_options="-server
    -Djava.awt.headless=true -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC
    -XX:NewRatio=2 -XX:PermSize=1M -XX:MaxPermSize=64M
    -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=1 -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCDetails
    -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCApplicationStoppedTime"

    $ cat conf/my.cnf

    [mysqld]

    basedir      = /opt/zimbra/mysql
    datadir      = /opt/zimbra/db/data
    socket       = /opt/zimbra/db/mysql.sock
    pid-file     = /opt/zimbra/db/mysql.pid
    bind-address = localhost
    port         = 7306
    user         = zimbra
    tmpdir       = /opt/zimbra/data/tmp

    external-locking

    log-slow-queries = /opt/zimbra/log/myslow.log
    long-query-time  = 1
    log-long-format
    log-queries-not-using-indexes

    thread_cache_size = 10
    max_connections   = 40

    # We do a lot of writes, query cache turns out to be not useful.
    query_cache_type = 0

    sort_buffer_size = 1048576
    read_buffer_size = 1048576

    # (Num mailbox groups * Num tables in each group) + padding
    table_cache = 1200

    innodb_buffer_pool_size        = 655360
    innodb_log_file_size           = 104857600
    innodb_log_buffer_size         = 8388608
    innodb_file_per_table

    # Value is: 200 + max_connections + 2 * table_cache
    innodb_open_files              = 2710

    Welcome to the forums

    Making Zimbra run on minimal RAM - Zimbra :: Wiki may help you but that is way to little memory. If you really want to cut down on the memory in use then you could also disable the Zimbra statistics. What does this return
    Code:
    su - zimbra
    zmprov gs `zmhostname` zimbraServiceEnabled

    Oh, thank you! didn't see that article, just had Performance Tuning Guidelines for Large Deployments - Zimbra :: Wiki

    Could you give me the javavm line in original, please?
    I haven't got mine any more and the actual breaks the store..

    Kind regards, QD

    This is mine with a slight tweak on the memory
    Code:
    zmlocalconfig mailboxd_java_options
    mailboxd_java_options = -server -Djava.awt.headless=true -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:NewRatio=2 -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=1 -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCApplicationStoppedTime

    Thank you

    Enlarged the memory now, no way around that. Now everything works with 500MB RAM...

    Default Memory tuning

    Is that optimal for 500Mb? or ?
    Just copy paste that in (no need to change any numbers?)
