Thank's for the advice, I'M doing the same thing you recommend with the current Debian Lenny 5.0.4 installation. If I fail on first try, I'll certainly take your advice.

I gave up in Debian Lenny too. Starting fresh with Ubuntu 8.04LTS

I've tried with an old CD I have of Ubuntu 8.04.1 and struggled for a while. I'm trying again on a fresh Ubuntu 8.04.4 server CD freshly burned from my other machine.

I wish it was easier...
