Question Memory issue on VSERVER

Hi there,

I've already searched the forums for an answer but didn't find anything which helped me. After the Zimbra 6.0.6 GA installation the server fails to start with the following message:

Starting servers...Could not create the Java virtual machine.
mkdir : No such file or directory at /opt/zimbra/bin/zmcontrol line 35
done.
sh: line 1: Could: command not found
Installing common zimlets...

Running TOP shows that the server is out of memory.

top - 19:33:56 up 45 min, 1 user, load average: 0.73, 0.80, 0.75
Tasks: 35 total, 1 running, 33 sleeping, 0 stopped, 1 zombie
Cpu(s): 0.0%us, 0.0%sy, 0.0%ni,100.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 1048576k total, 1048576k used, 0k free, 0k buffers
Swap: 2097152k total, 0k used, 2097152k free, 0k cached

There is nothing running on the server apart from Zimbra. In the system requirements I've seen that 1 GB is enough memory for a installation. I just want to run 1-5 mailboxes but even the installations fills up the memory.

Is there a chance to get Zimbra CS to run on a VSERVER with 1 GB RAM and Ubuntu 8.04?

Yes, I've installed the specific package.

Hope someone can help.

Regards,

Christoph
