Default Will Zimbra work here?

Hello all,

Need to install Zimbra on Opensuse 10.3 64-bit. The idea is to install the networking version . If it works, then continue from there.

Have seen a documents that:
-> give instructions on installing Zimba on opensuse 10.3 32-bit
-> mention that a DNS server is needed that holds MX records.

Q1: Which version can one download for the opensuse 10.3 64-bit

Q2: Not sure if I can get "hostname" to return the same value as "hostname -f". Please look at the information below and see if this would be enough to install ZIMBRA on the system.

TIA

If by 'networking version' you mean the Network Edition of Zimbra then openSUSE is not a supported platform (it's also not supported for the Open Source version either) and it will invalidate your support contract with Zimbra. I'd suggest you install Zimbra on a supported platform, you'll have a better experience with that and receive full support.

Thanks for the response. I suppose an open-source version will need to be used? According to the link below:

Installing ZCS 5.0.x on openSUSE 10.3 a complete guide http://www.zimbra.com/forums/install...lete-guide.htm

It seems to be associated with 32-bit opensuse.

Which one do I use for 64-bit opensuse? Can you please identify where I can download it?

TIA

As I mentioned above, openSUSE is an unsupported platform and there are no versions supplied by Zimbra for that distribution - you should install on one of the other platforms. Use one of the Supported Platforms.

Default The guide is no longer valid?

OK then, according to the guide, it says the following:

Download the openSUSE 10.2 zimbra package and unpack using tar xzvf zimbra_package.tgz

Would you at least tell me where one can locate : zimbra_package.tgz

or is this also no longer valid?

As mentioned in the post above, you can download a version for openSUSE 10.2 from the link provided but, I'll say this again, there is no support for running Zimbra on openSUSE - there will be no further versions provided for openSUSE. Is there some reason you can't install Zimbra on a supported platform?
