Default ldap is empty!?

Hi all. I'm using Release 6.0.5_GA_2213.UBUNTU8 UBUNTU8 FOSS edition. Everything is setup and working wonderfully.

I'm trying to connect to the LDAP instance for address lookups but strangely the branch for my domain appears to be completely empty - no objects in it at all aside from the schema!

I have setup several accounts and they are all working so I would expect there to be at least one entry.

Code:
me@kubuntu:~$ ldapsearch -h mydomain.net -x -b 'dc=net' '(objectClass=*)'
# extended LDIF
#
# LDAPv3
# base with scope subtree
# filter: (objectClass=*)
# requesting: ALL
#

# search result
search: 2
result: 0 Success
I've tried using 'dc=mydomain,dc=net' and 'ou=people,dc=mydomain,dc=net' as the base but still the same results.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers,
n
