Default Zimbra with Sun Directory Server

Hello-

We are looking for a possible migration to zimbra and we were wondering If we can use Zimbra (either professional or Open source editions) with Sun Java Directory Server or not.

I've been into documentations and I could not find that much info integrating Zimbra specifically with Sun Directory Server.

Any pointers would be appreciated, thanks..

As long as Sun Directory Server can respond to LDAP queries (which it can), it should work just fine.

You will need to find a method to provision your users (either yourself or automatically) since Zimbra can't (yet) do it automatically based on whether or not it sees a user in the directory.

Just to clarify, you can only use SJDS as an authentication source and not as a replacement for the Zimbra LDAP and you will still need to provision users in Zimbra.
