Default Importing OLD MTA into new Install

So I recently migrated from SuSE 9.3 to FC5. I was told that I could just install Zimbra over my existing install and everything should work. Well that wasn't the case. I went to install 3.2 beta and it whacked my previous zimbra install. HOWEVER, I did manage to backup first and was wondering now that I have a 'fresh' 3.2 install, can I import the old messages from my backups?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Sorry you had trouble.
    Actually I said:

    6) install zcs again
    7) /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms
    8) chown zimbra:zimbra /opt/zimbra/*
What seems to be the issue? Any particular problem? I know this works because I've done it a ton of times, and would like to help out.

As long as you have /opt/zimbra backed up, all you have to do is follow the above instructions. Just copy your backup over your fresh install (as indicated in step 5) and re-install zimbra.

Now, I have had some LDAP issues before, so if you do a

Also, please note that the Network Edition comes with backup features built in. Like I said, it should work okay. Several of us here have done it a lot.

Please let us know what errors you get so that we can help.

I would love to get the network edition, but this is my pesonal e-mail server and i have about 5 users. Before I upgraded from SuSE to FC5, I did install the 3.2 SuSE edition which updated my SQL database. Will this give me any problems with the steps you've provided? Which tool can I use to go in and reset the admin password?

    Thanks
