Default Zimbra IMAP Webclient

Dear Friends,

Let me introduce as Debjit. I am a new bee to Zimbra Collaboration suite. I like to install ZCS as a IMAP webmail client (to be used over browsers) for my institution. My idea is that we have a mail server at HOST A. We will install ZCS in HOST B. At HOST B ZCS will act as IMAP web based mail client. We will ask the users to check their mail at the HOST B over browser like IE or Firefox.

Please help and please provide the necessary setup documents if possible.

Thanks for your support and help.

Regards

Cheers !!!!

Debjit.

Welcome to the forums

Zimbra is a complete collaboration suite and is not designed to be used with another mail server; that is all inbuilt.

Hi,

Thanks for the information.
But is there any possiblity to make Zimbra Desktop to available over web browser? Basically we have our university mail system with thousands of users. So porting them to ZCS is impossible as it is all in one. But at the same time interface of zimbra is very attractive. So we want to take advantage of that inteface as it is very user friendly with large number of facilities. Can we make Zimbra desktop available over web browser? If we cant, then can you please suggest any such web browser based webmail client having good inteface like zimbra?

Thanks and Regards !!!!

Cheerrrssss !!!

Debjit.

Why would it be impossible to migrate ? It has been done many times before by other Universities :- Zimbra Grows in EDU, Heads to EDUCAUSE 2009 » Zimbra :: Blog.
