Default [SOLVED] cant send email to a external domain unless they sent email to me 1st

Weird issue,
I cant send email to an external domain unless they send email to me 1st.

For example:
if I email xxx@hotmail.com they wont recieve the email. However if they email me, i get the email, if i reply they do get it.

Any ideas where to start? i checked dns and it looks good.

What errors do you see in the log files when you try to send an email?

/var/log/zimbra.log plus does your MX record have a valid rDNS entry against the IP ?
