    Default IMAP Login issue

I'm using the vmware image and considering migrating my old dovecot/postfix system over to this. It's working well except I cannot log in with any IMAP clients. I get the following error from Kmail:

    [REFERRAL imap://myuser%40mydomain.com@zimbra.mydomain.com/] LOGIN failed
If I log in using the web interface as myuser@mydomain.com, it all works without issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Do you have TLS Auth on in the admin UI?

Hrm, can't find TLS in the IMAP settings. I have SSL turned off and Enable Clear Text logins turned on.

    Default Servers and hosts

Have you created more than one server in LDAP? It looks like localconfig says that your server is "mydomain.com", but the account "myuser@mydomain.com" has its zimbraMailHost set to "zimbra.mydomain.com".

I only have one server listed in the "servers" section of the management console:

    Display name: zimbra.mydomain.com
    Service host name: mydomain.com

Is the service host name set wrong? Or should I be looking somewhere else?

Have you restarted zimbra since you made the changes to the IMAP settings?

Oh yes, I've restarted the system pretty much every time I make any change.

I'm fairly sure I've mucked things up trying to get it to fit into my network topography, but I've no idea what. I've started with a fresh VM three times yet and still can't get everything right, but this is the closest I've come.

    Default LOGIN-REFERRALs and you

You'll see an IMAP LOGIN-REFERRAL when the account you LOGIN as is believed to be homed on another server. The check we make is that the account's zimbraMailHost LDAP setting must match the local server's zimbraServiceHostname LDAP setting. If these two don't match on your 1-server setup, that's likely your problem. If they do match, let us know and we can try to figure out what's wrong...
