Default New install - unable to send/recieve emails

Hello everyone,

So basically we have Zimbra running in a VM on Ubuntu. Everything seems to be configured probably for the most part. The MX & A records have been setup. I am able to hit the public webmail address & login.

The issue is: we are unable to send/receive emails locally or externally. No bounceback emails are received. Under server status, next to our domain, there is a red X. All services underneath is have a red X as well. Under mail queue, all the emails are deferred. All emails say the following: Reason: host 127.0.0.1 [127.0.0.1] said: 451 4.5.0 error in processing, id=24706-06, parts_decode_ext failed: unix utility file(1) not available, but is needed at (eval 97) line 110, line 784. (in reply to end of data command)

While researching this issue I came across this forum:
[SOLVED] Unable to receive email 4.5.6:

The second post (from a Zimbra Consultant) asked the person to double check everything: What else is in the logs? Is there any reason the connection might be refused? Are your DNS A & MX records correct? Is your hosts file correct? Is there any firewall? Are you behind a router? If so, you'll need a Split DNS setup.

So I checked out the Split DNS link: Split DNS - Zimbra :: Wiki

I configured that as well. We are completely stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

The answer to your problem is in the blue highlighted part of your error message, install the required program.

Ok we installed the file. I restarted zimbra services and tried to send our a mail again.
Now we receive the following for the emails:
(connect to mail.domain.com[(our public ip address)]:7025: Connection timed out)

If you do a `zmcontrol status` (as zimbra user of course) does it show all services as running?

You might also like to update your forum profile with the output of the following command:
Code:
zmcontrol -v
You also might like to check if you've disabled any SElinux or AppArmor that might be on your server.
