You don't need a full-fledged server for this. Just install Windows Server into a VM, install Outlook 2007, install the BES software, and point it at your Zimbra server.

We currently run Zimbra 5.0.x, an separate LDAP server, and Windows/BES in VMs on the same hardware. No issues for our ~1200 users, and we don't see any issues expanding out to our full 2100 users.

The current BES pro or lite or whatever it's called only allows 50 BBs per install, but all it takes is creating another Windows/BES VM and away we go.

Thanks for the suggestions. My server hardware is pretty light but I only have 50 users so I might do that.

Is the BES pro or lite a free product?

Thanks

We paid ~$5000 CDN for the 50-user version of the BES. Not sure if that's Pro, or Lite, or what the exact name is. That was paid last summer, so it may be less now.

Of course, waiting another 6-8 weeks should eliminate the need to spend anything. And, you could probably talk their sales guys into giving you a free license for the 50-user version, since the free Express comes out next month.
