[SOLVED] RAID config for small, single server deployment

Hardware question -

For a smaller new deployment (+- 300 users), would this still be the optimum RAID configuration on a single server with no SAN?

(6) 300Mb SAS Drives in a single RAID 1 0 configuration. Array is partitioned as: /swap is 16gb SWAP - /boot is 100mb EXT3 - / is 820Gb EXT3

Looks like you've got a pretty good setup for the size.

I'm assuming that by '8Mb' you meant '8GB'

Yes, we are running for 273 active users ( 0.5 - 3 GB mailbox size) almost the same hardware and it works like a sharm with some performance reserve for the future.

I'd rather have smaller "main" volume (two 146 SAS GB 15K RPM) and create a big & low cost "secondary" volume for HSM (two to four 750 GB SAS 7.2K RPM).

And don't forget backup space.
