| | | [SOLVED] LDAP Search Base Question Hi all
I have a GAL across 6 different domains, on two LDAP servers. I have set up "zmprov mcf zimbraGalInternalSearchBase ROOT" and in the zimbra client a user in one domain can see a user in another. Now I am trying to set up an iMap client to do the same thing: search for address from the GAL, and I am having some problems.
My question is, what is the right search-base to type in, if I have several domains with completely different names. How do I refer my mail client to the top level of all domains?
Thank you very much! |

| | | can't answer your question, but is it possible that you're just not talking to the server? here's something that affected me - my imap clients couldn't connect to my zimbra gal, and I found that zimbra only listens on ONE interface to port 389 - there's a zmprov command about it - (search this forum) After that, I didn't specify a search root at all - just (mail=*) If I remember right |

| | | Thanks for your answer.
I can actually connect to the server as my Zimbra log says something like "invalid dn" every time I try and connect, or, if I leave my search field blank I get a message that says that no matches can be found on the server ( on the client side).
Thanks! |

Thanks! | I'm having the same issue under SeaMonkey. My base DN is as follows:
ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com
I don't get an error, but I don't get any results either.

| | This is working on 6.0.2, I tested on various installs, what happened on 6.0.3? I hope this is fixed on 6.0.4, or do we have to fill a bug?? It's a basic feature, not supposed to stop working... |

BTW, did you read the 6.0.3 Release Notes about Anonymous Bind?

| | Yes, I read. When trying with authentication I get this message: slapd[4099]: conn=4803 op=0 do_bind: invalid dn (admin@domain.com) for example.
Using Anonymous login the tests are ok but don't get results |

| | admin@domain.com isn't a valid dn at all. Fix your bind dn.
A correct dn is in the form of "uid= , ...." for example,
"uid=joe,ou=people,dc=mydomain,dc=com"
Or for the zimbra admin DN:
"uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra".
