Angry logmysql.server not present

Hi guys,

Just to clarify first up I have trawled through your forums and haven't found an answer to this problem. I have installed / uninstalled 3 times at this point.

So, i have made a clean install. and I get the error of:
Quote:
"SSL_error_rx_record_too_long"
so I followed this http://www.zimbra.com/forums/install...-admin-ui.html and Issues with mysql and logmysql passwords - Zimbra :: Wiki.

Running through the second link I can to find that I do not have the logmysql.server installed/present anywhere.
Quote:
zimbra@mail:~$ logmysql.server status
-su: logmysql.server: command not found
so I tried running zmloggerinit ask described across a few posts and get
Quote:
root@mail:/opt/zimbra# zmloggerinit
bash: zmloggerinit: command not found
only to find it is not install/present in its directory - or on the server for that matter, /opt/zimbra/libexec.

Also, reading though the forums it mentions that there should be a mysql dir in /opt/zimbra/logger... again not there.

Now as i mentioned above I have installed this three time, unistalling using the guide from the wiki. Each time I have DL'd a new image.

I would really appreciate any help on this one.

Thanks in advance.

Stuart

Ok, rule out any hardware issues or similiar I installed zimbra on another server, downloading a fresh image again, and still the same problem.

So, if there are no answers, could you inform me how to run zimbra without the logger.

How much RAM on this machine? Is it a real machine or a VM? Which operation system? Any errors in the installation log or the zimbra log files

The reason you're having a problem following those instructions is that the logger service has been completely rewritten in Zimbra 6.x

If you want to try it without the logger then remove Zimbra with './install.sh -u' (I'm sure you already know this but.. be aware that will remove everything) then reinstall and answer 'N' when asked if you want the logger.

I have it running it on an Ubuntu real machine with 512 ram.

The install log files were in the /tmp directory, but since rebooting they have been flushed.

I am now running the install again without the logger, I will report back what happens and post the install logs.

Thanks for the response

Zimbra is never going to run well, or at all, with that amount of RAM and is well below the System Requirements. The minimum is 2GB and the recommended minimum is 4GB, Zimbra does require thst amount of RAM to install and run correctly.
