Default Do I need to install BIND first before zimbra?

Hi,

A quick question, I want to try Zimbra on internal network (192.168..,172.16..)

Do I need to setup or install or configured a working DNS first before commencing to install the Zimbra Open Source Edition?

TIA!

You need to have valid DNS A & MX records pointing to your LAN IP for the Zimbra servers, as you're behind a NAT router then you'll need a Split DNS. If you don't already have a DNS server installed on your LAN then the answer is yes, you'll need BIND installed and working before the Zimbra install.

i have another question for the sake of others who may want to integrate with their system.

1. could it be possible in calendar to have:
marketing group - can create/delete/view only events/schedule?
can't adjust time schedule?
frontdesk group - can edit/adjust only time schedule but can't delete/create events?

TIA!
