Default ZCS 6.0.1 and VPN

Hi Guys,

I have installed

Code:
zimbra@mail:~$ zmcontrol -v

Release 6.0.1_GA_1816.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 FOSS edition.

zimbra@mail:~$
on

Code:
zimbra@mail:~$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.24-23-server (buildd@crested) (gcc version 4.2.4 (Ubuntu 4.2.4-1ubuntu3)) #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 22:14:30 UTC 2009
zimbra@mail:~$
And now I want configure VPN server for the remote users (because postconf mynetworks mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 0.0.0.0/8 is bad idea). Do you have any ideas how to integrate VPN server and ZCS? I mean that the password to mail account and VPN must be same (select from same database)

Thanks in advance.

Default Why?

Why in the world would you set mynetworks to 0.0.0.0/8 ? You've practically opened up your server so world + dog can send mail through it. Actually I'm not sure any networks begin with 0. Maybe no one can send? Odd configuration either way.

Look mynetworks set to 0.0.0.0/8 I show it for example. I mean that many co-workers are try to get mail from different places (for example - another ISP, 3G, mobile interet, etc).

When for example ceo call to me with a problem "relay access denay" is bad as for me also and for him.

I tried to explain him use a web browser for send/receive mail non in the office, but failure

And for me the best solution is VPN.

An authenticated user can get and send email from any external IP address via a Zimbra server. If you're having a problem then I'd suggest you address that rather than trying a VPN or any modification to MyNetworks setting. This subject has been covered many times in the forums, search the forums first and try some of the suggestions to resolve that problem.

Look main question was: How to integrate the ZCS accounts information with the VPN server users list. I mean that the users account to ZCS and VPN must be same. And when I'll create new account in ZCS also I want automatically add this account to VPN server. Maybe I missed, when sought on the forum, but I have not found anything like this.

Ideas, how to do it?

If you read the posts people were telling you that the best way to solve this issue is to simply have the mail clients setup the Zimbra server as their smtp server and use SSL/TLS for the connection.

If you still insist on having clients connect through a VPN and then using port 25 for some bizarre reason, your best solution would be to find some sort of VPN server that supports accounts in LDAP and having it access the Zimbra server that way. This is a very complicated method for something that has been solved in a much better manner using mail clients...
