Default imap cleartext / secured

Hi,

Is it possible to activate both secure and plain imap authentication somehow?
if yes, how?

It wouldn't make sense to have both methods activated and it's not very secure having your passwords sent in cleartext, my advice would be to use a secure connection.

Yes.

Check "Enable TLS" and check "Clear Text Login" in the admin panel under the server and/or global configuration.

A usecase would be for troubleshooting, or large organizations where the decision is up to the user.

Same works even if I'm using proxy?

I can get clear text login work, but when I try secure authentication with thunderbird, it won't work. it just says that server doesn't support it.
