Default My hardware died but I have a identical server and "zimbra" direcry saved ..restore?

Hi all,

My server died but I have the entire zimbra 5.0 directory saved offline. Can I rebuild it on another identical server I have? OR can I rebuild on another machine and re-enstate my mailboxes? Any good links or threads or answers? Thanks in advance.

p.s. I am using open source and noticed there was no "restore or backup tab in admin consol - previously)

TY. But on my server, this command "zmbackup", for example, was not available. How do you download/enable this capabilty?

First of all: update your profile to show the Zimbra version you are using.

Because you do not have "zmbackup" I assume you are using the open-source version. You'll need to follow this procedure from the zimbra wiki to get up and running again. If you have the entire /opt/zimbra folder there's nothing to worry about, well... except for downtime that is

Thanks. My new server requires a totally different hostname and IP, etc..but has the same os and zimbra version.

Can I restore a particular mailbox as a folder or something to my new mail box?

Why don't you just restore the entire server (domain and all), backup the user using the Export function in the users preferences, then install a new server install if that is what you want to do, then restore that user's stuff to a new user?
