Well, BEFORE issuing ./buildZCS.sh -t to build Zimbra please make symlink to perl binary (orig /usr/local/bin) into /usr/bin/perl running

If anyone miss this step some part would fail in compilation and build will FAIL.

Well, compilation ran successfully and all ZCS 6.0.9 services are up and running now on FreeBSD 8.1/i386. Another time to thank solko for his work ;)

If anyone wanna get 6.0.9 i386 binaries please let me know ;)

I won't provide i386 stuff from now on so if anyone is using that.. move to amd64! :P
I will provide FreeBSD_8 packages soon.

My system is not an amd64 it's a i386 on Microsoft Virtual PC.

I get this error:
BUILD FAILED

Total time: 11 minutes 18 seconds
gmake: *** [/home/zimbrasrc/GNR-609/ZimbraBuild/../ZimbraServer/build/dist/jetty/webapps/service.war] Error 1

and i have found /home/zimbrasrc/GNR-609/logs but nothing is mentioned there abut the error. Where then to look?

sorry for the very late reply. i got no notification via email (concerning new forum post) so that's why no answer.
once again, write me an email/skype/icq/whatever if i fail to respond, very busy lately.

as for perl, freebsd by default creates symlink like this:
solko@[zmail /opt/zimbra] # lsf /usr/bin/perl
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 24 Nov 22 2009 /usr/bin/perl -> /usr/local/bin/perl5.8.9*
(which is tied to USE_PERL option for perl tied to LINK_USRBIN option in Makefile in ports)

i am sorry, i had to undergo a surgery a while ago so i am not in proper working condition (yet).

in any case, i386 is deprecated even by zimbra team so you can either go for older version or switch to amd64. no reason to force 6.0.9.

i seem to be slacking a lot lately (concerning zimbra) and you all seem to be hearing that (a lot lately). there is already 6.0.12+7.0.1 out there in the wild so i will try my best to provide some packages.. some day.. soon. most probably only 7.x.

but.. noone has asked me for those yet so i always assume (the worst): lack of requests equals lack of interest hence no reason to do anything.
hell, i am still using 6.0.4 on my servers :).

I'm running FreeBSD 8.2 AMD64 version on virtual pc.
I am following your wiki on building GNR 6.0.9 on FreeBSD.
I install build depps from packages but download the src manually (not using perforce).

any help would be appreciated. Thx.

that is actually not an ERROR and a correct way to complete a build (that's why it is ignored).

i assume you tried to install zimbra via the installation script and if so, could you please look at the contents of installation log? usually /tmp/install.log.$pid (the installation file announces the log file)
