I have not heard of anyone doing so.
The one thing that has not happened (as far as I can tell) is the creation of zimbra-xxx.deb and zimbra-xxx.rpm packages that are just zimbra and allow you to use the distributions ldap, postfix, apache-httpd, tomcat, nginx, spamassin, courier-imap server, mysql, courier-pop server, and java (did I get them all?).
The first big advantage to a minimal zimbra package would be that the processes would run as six or so users instead of the current one user, and the zimbra ecosystem would be much larger, making exploits much harder to automate.
However, if you are looking to put zimbra behind a reverse proxy, it shouldn't be too hard to look at the nginx configuration and modify it for lighttpd. |
